Former Generations The Legacy actress Candice Modiselle who played Lerato on the SABC 1 soapie opera, has expanded her business beyond South African borders. The young actress and Voice artist left Generations The Legacy to focus on her television presenting and business careers.

She is the CEO and founder of a regional jewellery and accessories brand Sellé Jewellery.

On Generations, Candice played Lerato, a school going girl rights activist who found refuge in the Diale household. Learto showed signs of a hardworking character onscreen as she worked extra shifts at Shaftin Chicken to make ends meet. She was a younger sister to Palesa – the role played by Busisiwe Xaba. The Lerato role was temporary in The Generations The Legacy storyline, leading to an early exit of the character.

Founded by a young black South African woman, Selle Jewellery opened its doors on the 4th of June 2021 and has ever since made positive growth strides. The brand has three retail shops and employs over 24 workers. Barely five months after its inception, Selle Jewellery expanded beyond South African borders and opened shops in Eswatini and Botswana with the Zimbabwe branch on the cards. Candice has Mzansi to thank for the growth of her business and wishes to pave the way for young girls doubting their capabilities.

“The rise of Selle Jewellery is worth celebrating because it’s a collective effort; without family, fans and its loyal customers, it was going to be like any other failed dream. We are here together because many customers gave us a chance; they put their doubts aside to give a black business a chance. Let this brand be an inspiration to young girls out there that every dream is worth pursuing.”

Candice is a Lecturer at OnCue Interface Talent School

Qualified with a Bachelor’s Degree and Honours Degree in Dramatic Arts from the University of Witwatersrand, Candice is a full-time college lecturer.
