Thembisa Mdoda-Nxumalo set to replace Zandile Msutwana on The Queen
The Queen actress Zandile Msutwana will be temporarily replaced by TV personality and actress Thembisa Mdoda-Nxumalo after she sustained an injury on set.
The latest development was revealed by the showrunners through a public statement.
“It is with both great sadness and excitement that we make this announcement. Zandile Msutwana, who plays Vuyiswa Maake, sustained an injury while on set. Unfortunately, Msutwana cannot carry out her duties and has been booked off to recover well at home,” read a statement from Mzansi Magic.
Mzansi Magic broadcaster M-Net said Msutwana sustained an injury while on set and has been booked off to recover at home. The show must continue, filming of season five has to wrap and that meant someone had to be found to play the role of Vuyiswa in the absence of Msutwana. Mdodo-Numalo will appear from 19 April as the new Vuyiswa.
“We have no doubt that with Thembisa’s immense talent and skills, along with the support and guidance she has received from Msutwana, the character of Vuyiswa Maake will continue to steal the hearts of the viewers.”

Mhlongo is drowning as KaMandonsela on ETV’s Imbewu The Seed. Some fans of Zwane even suggested that MaMlambo from Uzalo would’ve been a better replacement, as the two actresses look more similar and play similar roles. Zwane apparently left because of contractual issues with the producers of the show.
