Sphelele Mzimela
Sphelele Mzimela was fired from South Africa’s most-watched drama series Uzalo after the producers discovered that she was pregnant. The celebrated star actress played the character of Mazaza at the daily hit soapie. Rumour has it that the actress was fired because the production team was disappointed with her getting pregnant.
Mzimela exit came barely a year after joining Uzalo after exiting Mzansi Magic’s telenovela Isibaya.
Keke Mphuthi
Keke Mphuthi is well known for her role of Princess Dipuo on The Throne. The Mzansi actress alleged that she was fired by Ferguson Films from The Trone after falling pregnant.
The celebrated star actress broke the silence of her shocking exit from The Throne on social media. She went on to lash out how cruel the Fergusons were. Keke even went on to review how she almost lost her child due to the stress. She even alleged that the company attempted to blacklist her. The actress tweeted,
ll don’t even know half the trauma I went through because of the Ferguson’s, because I was pregnant and even before then I was earning below minimum on two PRODUCTIONS I PLAYED LEAD ON … then I find out they trying to get me blacklisted,”

Actress and media personality Gabisile Tshabalala who played the role of Gontse on e.tv soapie Scandal! alleged that she had been fired from the show because she fell pregnant. The star actress has since become an advocate for good working conditions and working standards in the entertainment industry.
The celebrated actress in recent years has been involved in online wars with production companies such as the Ferguson films due to their poor working ethics.
Manaka Ranaka
Veteran actress Manaka Ranaka who portrays the role of the tough but kind Lucy Diale on Generations: The Legacy, recently revealed that she was fired from a job because she refused to abort her pregnancy.
The celebrated Mzansi star actress revealed that at one point in her acting career she was fired for refusing to abort. Ranaka Manaka indicated that the women who she worked for told her to abort the pregnancy. Her failure to do so, saw her being fired as a result.
