South African Actress Mbalenhle Mavimbela has found a way to be immortalized in her craft as she gets made a book cover for famous writer Dudu Busani Dube’s book. Mbalenhle has been termed the national wife for portraying Hlomu from the series The Wife, a series adapted from the same writer’s books. The show broke Showmax’s streaming records during its first season, which made its streaming contract be renewed for the following seasons before they stopped production on their second season for a break.
On the 21st of August 2022, Mbalenhle Mavimbela shared through her Instagram live that she was at a book cover reveal. At this party, she was the guest of honour with her co-cast member and on+screen twin Lindah Majola. Dube is a writer loved and glorified among the South African fiction writing club, and she served readers with five books that followed the love lives of a fictional Zulu gang of brothers. The books have been well received in the country, and when news broke out that there was going to be a TV series adapted from the books, they asked on social media about the actors Mzansi wanted to play the roles. The series’ cast was better than most people expected, and Mzansi loved how each was perfect for his part.
Mbalenhle Mavimbela is Dudu Dube’s muse
The Wife cast has a special relationship with Dudu Busani Dube, and they have nicknamed her their mother. However, in Mbalenhle Mavimbela, Dube found his muse, and they have a close relationship on and off-screen. Given that Mbalenhle won’t be coming back on the show, but the two are still close speaks volumes about how connected the two are.
The End is a book based on what comes after the five books of the Zulu brothers’ love story. The first five books are Hlomu The Wife, Zandile The Resolute, Naledi His Love, Iqung and Mess. The book is set to be released next week, but readers have started taking preorders.
