Video: Hopewell Chin’ono house raided, abducted by police, state security agents

Hopewell Chin’ono abducted: Journalist and government critic Hopewell Chin’ono has been taken by police and state security agents from his home in Harare.

Prominent lawyer Beatrice Mtetwa, Hopewell Chin’ono says he has been “abducted” from his home after state security agents broke glass front door to gain access. Chin’ono recorded moment the agents entered his room and ordered him to put down his phone

As the police were breaking into his home, Chin’ono recorded a video of the break in. He posted on Twitter, “Police and State agents are harassing my workers at home!

MDC Alliance spokesperson Fadzayi Mahere said, “We’ve all seen the videos of the abduction of Hopewell Chin’ono as it unfolded. The State can’t claim that it was fake. Every progressive Zimbabwean has a duty to demand his immediate, safe release. Journalistic freedom is a constitutional right.

Leading human rights lawyer, Beatrice Mtetwa says 8 Zimbabwean state security agents broke into investigative journalist Hopewell Chin’ono’s home and abducted him. The agents did not produce a warrant & the lawyers do not know where they took him.
