It has been revealed that Shauwn Mkhize did not audition for her Uzalo role. MamMkhize went in for the role without an audition. MamMkhize plays a woman whose interests in KwaMashu Kingdom Church are for personal enrichment.
Shauwn Mkhize recently joined Uzalo for a cameo role. However, the actress did not audition for the role. Rumours revealed that she had paid her way into the soapie but that is apparently not the case. MamMkhize was invited by the show’s producers to the soapie.
“Uzalo approached my PR team and when my PR team presented the idea to me, I felt like let me use this opportunity to give my fans what they want”.

Although she had never considered herself an opportunity, MamMkhize is excited as the opportunity has allowed her to interact more with her fans before she films her second season of her reality show, KwaMamMkhize.
“I’m actually feeling excited, dying to see how the final thing eventually came out. Truth be told it was not something I planned to do. For me, I felt like my fans had been asking me to come back with a season two (of her reality show) or just to their TV screens and I felt this was an opportunity for them to see me because I think I owe them that,” she said.
The reality TV star revealed that she has struggled with her scripts.
“When they gave me my script, Andile read it out for me and as he was reading it out, I was memorising it. All that I asked from Uzalo, I said, ‘Guys, I’ve read your script but I can’t say it word for word. I know what you want me to say though, so can you please allow me to say it the way I understood it?” When they said yes, I was relieved and I was ‘OK cool, let’s go!’ What would have got to me would have been if they insisted I say it line by line, . like verbatim. I don’t think I would have been able to pull it off if that was the case,” she said
Bringing Shauwn Mkhize to Uzalo was rumoured to be an attempt at boosting the show’s ratings. Uzalo recently revealed that they will be bringing back some of the old favourites, including Mxolisi, Mastermind and GC, another attempt at raising the show’s raisings.
