Setlhabi Taunyane is a South African actor best known for his role as Bra Kop on etv’s hit drama series Rhythm city. He has starred on the e.tv soap opera, Rhythm City, as Kop Khuse since it first went on air on 9 July 2007. He was part of the original cast along with the likes of Zenzo Ngqobe, Mduduzi Mabaso, Jamie Bartlett, Kelly Khumalo, Connie Chiume and Pam Andrews.
Bra Kop is also a music arranger, writer, playwright and director. The 64-year-old star actor has also starred in A Place Called Home and Hard Copy.

Setlhabi Jacob Taunyane was born in Johannesburg on the 27th of April 1956 in South Africa. Little is known about Taunyame. However, after his return from exile in Canada after 10-years his family denied him due to his health situation. Little is known about his wife or family as he always keeps his life private.
Return from Exile and Homelessness
Setlhabi Taunyane was in exile in Canada for over 10 years, this is according to an interview he did with Move! magazine. Upon return, he was rejected by his family and ended up homeless and living on the streets. “My life was tough. I looked frail and sick, and some of my relatives even asked for my ID so that they could take life cover for me. They thought I was going to die. Some called me ikwerekwere (foreigner).”

Movies Starred And Scandals
Setlhabi Taunyane had a supporting role on the SABC 1 education youth drama series, Soul Buddyz, for four seasons. He has also appeared Isidingo, Hard Copy, Justice For All and the 2007 SABC 1 mini-series Society.
Over time he rebuilds his acting career finding roles in shows such as Isidingo, Hard Copy, Justice For All and Soul Buddyz. In 2007 he staged a complete turn around when he was cast on Rhythm City.
“I am thankful to all the people who wrote me off, because without them, I would not have had this drive to succeed in life. The encouraged me. When these people see me now, they are so embarrassed, including my brother, who chased me away from my parents’ house,” Setlhabi Taunyane told Move! magazine.
The celebrated Taunyane also starred alongside Danny Glover in the feature film, Where Others Wavered. Setlhabi has performed in stage productions in America, Canada and Australia. His talents also include singing, dancing, playing the bass guitar, percussion and drums, and mime

Setlhabi meditates, skips and jogs and says he cooks “amazingly”. He’d like to be a big-time movie mogul in the future.
