Actress Ama Qamata plays Buhle Ndaba on Mzansi Magic telenovela Gomora. She plays the leading role as Mbongeni Ndaba and Thathi’s spoiled daughter, whose life changed forever when her father was shot in a botched car hijacking.

Ama Qamata started acting at a younger age; she was involved in high school plays. At seventeen, she debuted television filming when she played Naledi on SABC 1 comedy, My Perfect family. She played a recurring role on Rhythm City as Thandi. In 2020 Ama joined the Gomora as a leading cast member; she earns a relatively low salary of R18 000 per month for playing the Buhle role.
After nailing the Gomora role, Ama Qamata was invited to play a leading role on the Netflix drama series Blood and Water as Puleng Khumalo, whose twin sister was abducted at birth. Kutlwano Ditsele, the Blood and Water casting director, worked with Ama Qamata on Gomora as executive producer described her as a “phenomenal talent.”
