South Africa Broadcasting Corporation (SABC) has released the Top 20 most-watched programmes of October 2021. Surprisingly, Cassper Nyovest’s The Braai Show’s ratings are dropping every month.
Uzalo tops the list
Uzalo tops the list as usual, with over seven million viewers for October. Cumulatively, Uzalo has more than nine million viewers if the repeated episodes’ views are added to the new episodes views. The drama series is followed by Generations The Legacy, with just under six million viewers during the month. However, another drama Skeem Saam becomes the second most-watched programme if repeat episodes viewers are added.
Hush Money, a crime drama series, sits on number seven after Xhosa and Zulu News with 2,3million viewers. Hush Money is followed closely by telenovela The Estate, which premiered in April 2021.
Other dramas featuring on the list are Muvhango, Izalo Omnibus and Ikani.
Not much change from Top 20 Most Viewed SABC programmes in September 2021
It’s fair enough to state there isn’t much change from the September 2021 list. Side Dish, a drama series, featured bottom of the list in September but did not make it to October.
While October 2021 figures for SABC 2 are not yet available, we still expect Muvhango to top the list as the drama has been performing well over the months. On eTV, Scandal is the best performing programme, followed by House of Zidwe, Imbewu and Durban Gen, based on September 2021 statistics.
Braai Show With Cassper Nyovest is out of SABC’s Top 20
Rapper Cassper Nyovest took over the Braai Show from industry rival Aka. There was much hype about the show that it became the topic of conversations on Twitter. While Cassper’s fans hyped the show, industry analysts such as entertainment commentator Phil Mphela revealed the show was performing as people believe it is.
Cassper has since called on her followers to watch his show as his show’s ratings are low. The show’s ratings declined, according to statistics, as it featured on number fourteen in September.
