Actress Pearl Thusi recently opened up about her grieving process following the tragic loss of her friend, rapper Kiernan “AKA” Forbes. AKA was shot and killed outside a restaurant in Durban on February 10.
Focusing on the Good Memories
In a series of posts on her Instagram stories, Thusi shared that she is now ready to focus on the happier times she shared with the “Sponono” hitmaker. “Losing you cut me deeper than I realized,” she wrote. “Rest easy homie. I miss you. Thank you for the good times and the tricky (LOL).”
Remembering AKA’s Legacy
Thusi reflected on the impact that AKA had on her life and the lives of those around him. “You lived freely and honestly, even when it made no sense to the rest of us,” she wrote. “There’ll never be another like you. You made this life worth living. A masterpiece.”
Ongoing Investigation
AKA’s death is still under investigation, and his family is patiently waiting for answers while cooperating with investigators. AKA’s father, Tony Forbes, previously spoke to news reporters about their desire for a thorough investigation and justice for their son. “There are days where one hopes to hear the news that something happened,” he said. “But we still want to give the process space…it does seem slow, but it’s only [been] six months.”
