Nomuzi “Moozlie” Mabena was born in Benoni, East Rand which is located in Johannesburg, South Africa. She has always expressed being close with her family but we only know of a younger sisiter. Moozlie is currently 28 years old as she was born on the 22nd of September 1992. Nomuzi matriculated at St Dunstan’s College where she had been attending since she was 3 years old. She went on to graduate with a Bachelor of Arts in communications degree at Varsity College.
Career
Moozlie’s rise to fame began when she was 16 as she would MC at major events in and around her neighbourhood of Benoni. She then became Miss Benoni in 2010 which launched her modelling career. She modelled for brands like “Khosi Khosi” @YDE and The trading Post and has walked “Palulu Loves Pop-Up Show”. Nomuzi Mabena became a household name when she won the MTV Base VJ Search in 2012 and later on became the runner up for the SABC 1 Live presenter search. Those are not her only successes because in the Media Career Guide presenter search Nomuzi Mabena was a top 6 finalist. Nomuzi was a part of a short radio series on the Internet called “The Lip Gloss Diaries”. She has also presented for VUZU and V-Entertainment.
Moozlies Rap career
In 2014 Moozlie joined K.O.’s Cashtime Life Records but left in 2016 started her own self named music label. She has been releasing music from Nomuzi Mabena since then. Moozlie released her debut mixtape in 2017 named Versus. Many sinlges from the project became hits which include Getting Cash. Her first album named Victory was released in September 2018. In 2020 Nomuzi released her sophomore album called I’m a Star.
Moozlie won the Best Female Award at the South African Hip-Hop Awards in 2018 and the SA’s Most Stylish Performing Artist in Music at the SA Style Awards in 2019.
Scandals
Nomuzi’s biggest scandal has to be the faking of a car accident in partnership with Volkswagen SA and Dry Drive, a Diageo South Africa initiative. Nomuzi Mabena posted a video whereby she was line on her Instagram whilst driving. In the video she then got involved in accident for all to see. Many fans and users were worried for her especially since no statement was given immediately after the accident to give account of the events. It later came out that the video was staged and was actually a campaign to bring awareness to the dangers of using your phone whilst driving.
However, upon hearing this many took to Twitter to show their dissatisfaction siting that the video was more trauma inducing than anything. Soon she began trending with the hashtag #RoastNomuzi where Twitter users criticised Moozlie for the execution of the video and told her not to make light of death.

Nomuzi Mabena revealed to the world through an Instagram post that she is dating her manager Sbuda Roc. The picture was posted in 2018. Prior to this relationship she dated South African actor Thomas Gumede.
