Msengana and Skhumba bows out from Kaya FM as Dineo Ranaka and Sol Phenduka takes over slot in one of Radio heists of all-time
No doubt she has been making all sorts of headlines of late. The celebrated Metro FM presenter Dineo Ranaka has dumped Metro FM for Kaya FM. Confirmed reports have it that the prominent on-air goddess resigned from the station for greener pastures.
Her switch has since been dupped as the “greatest heist” in the radio industry. Kaya FM’s regional radio station is said to have broken the bank to secure her signature and lure her away from Metro FM.
She will be hosting “The Bridge” on Africa’s biggest commercial radio station. However, she will be replacing Thomas Msengana and Skhumba Hlophe as the station’s breakfast show host from next month.

Her departure has already left many shellshocked. A close source revealed that Metro FM didn’t fight for her despite her being the best host they currently have at the station.
“She is gone and she is joining Kaya FM as the new breakfast show host. I’m shocked that the management of the station did not fight to keep her here. This woman is so talented. Her show is the best performing one here, both in terms of listenership and advertising revenue. So how do you lose such an asset to a regional radio station? It’s embarrassing.”
On Sunday, Kaya FM management decided to remove Hlophe and Msengana as part of their strategy to reposition the station and grow listenership and advertising revenue. The pair has been removed because it struggled to attract the listeners targeted by the clients who want to advertise on the station.
Attempts to solicit comments from Kaya were unsuccessful at the time of publishing. This is a developing story, and Kaya FM’s comments will be added as soon as we have received them. However, on her breakfast show, she will be co-hosting with Sol Phenduka. Sol is best known for his co-hosting with the MacG.
