His heart is set on building a football career to carry on with the legacy, he says. A football background clearly would be an excellent foundation for his career. Moopi continues soaring and gets to represent the Sedibeng region at the under-12 level. Football structures in Sedibeng suddenly disintegrate, and his dreams crumble. It takes a while until Moopi snaps out of his craze for football and decides to follow a completely different path. As luck would have it, he gets a script in high school for the lead role in the play Romeo and Juliet. Realising he has a knack for the arts, he joins the school’s poetry club. He would have never known the clout his acting talent holds if he hadn’t tried.

Mothibeli’s doors keep opening wide, and he is accepted at New York University to study film directing. This journey is cut short as he fails to raise enough money to fund his tuition fees, and he comes back home. Gruesome as it is, Moopi’s return proves to be a blessing in disguise when he lands his first acting gig.
