Moonchild Sanelly develops a passion for music as she is brought up in a musical family. Her brother is a hip hop producer, her mother a jazz singer and her cousins kwaito dancers. In 2005, she moves to Durban to study fashion at the Linea Fashion Design Academy. She stays there for six years. In 2006, Sanelly starts performing in shows at Durban university of Technology. She focuses primarily in poetry and hip hop. The songstress starts featuring regularly on a weekend show on Gagasi FM, called “Poetry with King Siso”.
