Larona Moagi’s exit on season three’s finale much to everyone’s anticipation. The River fans had for the longest time complained about the actress’ poor acting skills. The situation escalates when a co-actress, Moshidi bashes Larona in an interview. It seems however that the brawls also occured offscreen until Larona’s parents intervene.
The production team does not reveal why Larona’s journey is cut short. This leaves room for speculation and masses wonder if Moshidi triggered the actress’ exit or if the fans’ disapproval of Larona led to her demise.
Larona Moagi is a law graduate and never went to acting school. She is grateful for the opportunity she had on The River to work with Mzansi’s finest. Speaking on her exit from the show, Larona had this to say:
“I always believed in my talent as an actor and I love the law as well. When it was time to go to varsity, I chose to do a BA law degree while attending acting classes and auditions to keep the fire burning. When I auditioned for The River, I was hoping to get a part, I did not realize I was going to get such a big role.
Playing alongside industry greats like Bab’ Don Mlangeni has been such an honor for me. I grew up watching them on TV and now here I was.
For me that was so affirming because it shows that I must put my best foot forward. I don’t think you can get anywhere in life if you allow yourself to be intimidated just do your best.
I am grateful to everyone that opened their hearts to me and let me into their TV room every night. It has been a great journey. Thank you for being #TeamTumi, it has been fun.”
