Gomora actress Pretty ‘Siyasanga Papu’s age and salary give Mzansi goosebumps.
Actress and sketchy artist Siyasanga Papu plays the role of Pretty Molefe on Gomora Mzansi Magic famous soap opera. In Gomora, the Pretty character is the second and chubby daughter of MaSonto Molefe (Connie Chiume). She spends her childhood in the shadow of her elder sister and good looking Thathi (Katlego Danke). She stays with her boyfriend Sbonga and daughter Tshiamo (Lerato Mokoka) in her mother’s house and is a businesswoman who works at her mother’s shabeen to keep the family afloat.
Depending on the day, Pretty can be a petty sister fighting her older sister, a loyal daughter fighting in her mother’s corner or a dejected child who has had enough of coming second in everything. Over the Gomora storyline, Pretty detested her elder sister, who dumped the family to live in the flashy suburbs of Joburg in Sandton only to return to Gomora township in dire times of need. The two siblings fought till they learnt how to stay together in harmony.

She was born on 14 July 1986 in Pretoria, Gauteng, South Africa and completed high school at Hoerskoole Eklandspoort. Siya went on to enrol at Damelin, where she studied filmmaking. On Gomora, she is a mother to a teenage daughter, but her daughter is seven years of age in real life.
Despite having appeared on numerous theatre plays and soapies as an extra, Siyasanga Papu opens a can of worms on how the filmmaking industry decimates plus-size actresses. Often assigned comic and grieving roles, the Gomora role has changed Siyasanga’s life and the perception towards plus-size actresses.
