Innocent Sadiki is a South African actress and preacher who is famous for her role as Sthoko on the soapie Skeem Saam. She is also a co-founder of Church By The Valley, a Christian ministry that she runs with her husband, Phindulo Sadiki, who is also a preacher.
On September 3, Innocent will head her own branch of Church By The Valley, after she was appointed as a senior pastor by her husband. She announced the news on her Instagram account, where she posted a video of her performing at the Netball World Cup final and meeting President Cyril Ramaphosa.
Ramaphosa congratulated Innocent on her performance and told her that he loved her music. He also encouraged her to continue spreading the gospel and inspiring people with her talent.
Innocent Sadiki’s reaction
Innocent was overwhelmed by the praise and support she received from Ramaphosa and from her fans. She said that she cried a lot after the encounter and that she was proud of herself and how far she had come.
She said that she always knew that God had called her to lead, but she did not expect him to take it this far. She said that she was grateful for the opportunity and that she understood the assignment very well. She said that she was here on earth for a deeper purpose and that her life was in God’s hands.
She also thanked herself for being strong and never giving up. She thanked her day one fans who had been with her through the hard and the nice times. She thanked God for his grace and his favour.
Innocent Sadiki’s role as a senior pastor
Innocent said that she was not worried about being a senior pastor, a position that is usually dominated by men in the church. She said that she knew that God had qualified her before he called her. She said that she was also an advocate for women empowerment and that this was an opportunity for her to show that God can use women mightily in the church.
She said that she would never minimise herself for anything or anyone. She said that she had an annual conference called Beauty and the Blessed, where she engaged women with provoking conversations to promote a shift in mindset and bring to light new approaches for mitigating the societal challenges facing women in this era of our nation.

She said that she got her mandate from the Bible, quoting Matthew 28:19-20, where Jesus commands his disciples to go and make disciples of all nations, baptising them and teaching them to obey everything he has commanded them.
She shared her vision for the church, saying that she wanted to see a church of order and community. She said that she wanted to build a home of worship and praise, a one-stop church that would cater for all spiritual wellness needs. She said that she wanted to see God take them to the nations. She said that she did not see a church, but a global movement. She said that the vision was bigger than her or even the church. She said that if they remained humble, God would fulfil his plans.
Innocent Sadiki’s acting career
Innocent said that her ministry would never affect her acting career and vice versa. She said that everything she did was part of her purpose and destiny. She said that it was all aligned and working out for good for the kingdom of God.
She said that she would work even harder on her acting career because she had to show God’s goodness. She said that she could not be a failure while serving God. She said that she believed there would be an increase in her work and a greater impact at church.
