Generations actor ‘Kenneth Mashaba’ Septla Sebogodi stars in The Woman King
Veteran actor Septula Sebogodi has shown great talent in his art. From his roles back in the day when he graced our screens on many South African soapies like Generations and Rhythm City, he showed that his talent is second to none.

Septula Sebogodi has been cast in The Woman King. The 59-year-old actor is to play alongside Viola Davis, Thuso Mbedu and John Boyega. The movie that started filming on the 1st of November in South Africa has been in the headlines since the beginning of the year. The woman king has been developed since the year 2018. The storyline is one close to people’s hearts and the cast consists of fan favourite international and local stars.

The Woman King is inspired by the Kingdom of Dahomey, modern-day Benin, which was one of the most powerful African kingdoms in the 18th and 19th Centuries. The story will follow the life of Nanisca and Nawi. Nanisca who will be played by Viola Davis is a general in the military while Nawi played by Thuso Mbedu is a young recruit. These two women will fight off enemies who took their people into slavery and threatened to take away everything that they had worked for. Seputla Sebogodi is a South African actor who is best known for his role as Kenneth Mashaba in Generations. Before he landed the Generations gig, some might remember him from the 90s sitcom called Surbuban Bliss as Nkwesheng. He was featured in films like Hearts and Minds, The Long Run and Mr Bones. He has landed roles in South African soapies like Generations, Heartlines, Inkaba, Rhythm City, Scandal, Zabalaza and Zaziwa. The first role he landed as an actor was an accident. He replace an actor that had not shown up at a stage production.

The actor also doubles up as a gospel musician. His first album is called Nkuke Morena which translates to Lift me up, Lord. He was born to a ZCC family and his second album was inspired by the traditions of the ZCC church.
