Farm Attacks & Murders in South Africa: List of daily farm & murders
Farm attacks and murders in South Africa are acts of targeted violent crime directed at farmers mostly white farmers. South Africa records more than 46 farm attacks monthly which is more than 1.5 farm attacks averagely per 24hrs.
According to a study made by Afriforum, South Africa recorded 552 farm attacks and 57 farm murders in 2019.
Properties worth millions of rands and lives have been lost in these farm attacks and no concrete help from the government seem to be coming.
Major trend of attackers include intimidating victims (mainly the elderly and women), beating, killing and rape is common in farm attacks.
Savannanews with the help of citizen journalism and police will compile all farm attack cases.

30/7/2020
#FarmAttack 30/7/2020: Boschpoort, North West. Elderly victim (64) was attacked in front of his house by a single armed suspect. He was tied up and a bag was put over his head. Jewellery and a phone were stolen. No serious injuries reported.
#FarmAttack 30/7/2020: Theunissen, Vrystaat. Farmworker, his wife and child were attacked and abducted by 5 armed attackers. 6 cows were butchered and the meat stolen. Victims were released on the side of the road. No serious injuries reported.
27 July 2020
#FarmAttack 27/7/2020: Grabouw, Western Cape. Victims were attacked by five suspects armed with firearms, knives and a panga. Various laptops, phones, knives and other items stolen. No further detail available.
26 July 2020
#FarmAttack 26/7/2020: Wemmershoek, Western Cape. Four armed suspects wearing balaclavas and gloves attacked the victim. Phone and laptop were stolen, and the suspects unsuccessfully attempted to steal a vehicle. No further details available.
#FarmAttack 26/7/2020: Houtbosdorp, Haenertsburg, Limpopo. Elderly couple was attacked by a group of armed suspects. Female victim was hit in the face with a pistol. Suspects then proceeded to one of the workers’ houses. Worker was tied up. Cash and phones stolen.
25 July 2020
#FarmAttack 25/7/2020: Kameeldrift, Gauteng. Elderly couple and one of their friends were attacked by their farmworkers and tied up inside the house. Cash, phones and a Nissan Navara were stolen. Vehicle has been recovered since and two suspects have been arrested.
#FarmMurder 25/7/2020: Alexandria, Eastern Cape. Elderly & nearly blind male victim (71) was found murdered in his farm shop, as members of the community noticed something wrong upon entering the store. 2 suspects were arrested during a follow up operation by the community & SAPS
#FarmMurder 25/7/2020: Marble Hall, Limpopo. Foreman (39) was on his way to pay wages, as he was stopped by the suspects pretending to be farmworkers. He was shot dead and thrown out of his bakkie. Suspects fled with cash and the bakkie, however, the bakkie was later recovered.

#FarmAttack 24/7/2020: Muldersdrift, Gauteng. Victim noticed noises outside his front door and saw 4 suspects outside. The attackers then shot him in the leg and stole a phone, DVD-player and a tv. Suspects fled on foot.
#FarmAttack 24/7/2020: Ottosdal, North West. Victim was woken by noises in his house. As he was about to get dressed, 3 suspects entered his room. Victim reached for his gun & the attackers fled. All three suspects were arrested during a follow up operation by community and SAPS.

Farm Attack 8/7/2020: Gravelotte, Limpopo. 4 armed suspects pretended to be interested in buying chickens. They forced 2 farmworkers to lay down and proceeded to the main house, where they fired a shot. Phones and cash stolen, minor injuries reported.
Farm Attack 8/7/2020: Musina, Limpopo. Two farmworkers were attacked by three armed men and forced to accompany them to the main house. Safe was broken open and phones, cash and laptops were stolen. Workers were then tied up. No serious injuries reported.
Farm Attack 8/7/2020: Franschhoek, Western Cape. Male victim was woken by noises in the house & then confronted by a suspect aiming at him as he was about to get up. Couple was tied up and the attackers spent an hour in the house, stealing phones, jewellery, a tablet and laptops.
7 July 2020
Farm Attack 7/7/2020: Marble Hall, Limpopo. Group of farmworkers was attacked by 5 armed suspects. Workers were assaulted and robbed of their phones. Attackers demanded information about the main house and its contents. Various workers injured.
Farm Attack 7/7/2020: Wolseley, Western Cape. Male victim was on his way out as he was confronted by an armed suspect pointing his firearm at him. Victim managed to escape and noticed an additional two suspects. Despite an extensive search, no arrests were made.
5 July 2020
Farm Attack 5/7/2020: Stanger, KwaZulu-Natal. Guard was attacked by 4 armed suspects. He was tied up and his shotgun was stolen. No serious injuries reported.
4 July 2020
Farm Attack 4/7/2020: Bishopstowe, KwaZulu-Natal. Female victim and her children were attacked and sprayed with pepper spray. She managed to lock herself and the kids in a room and raised the alarm. Farmer and community were quick to respond. No serious injuries reported.
Farm Murder 4/7/20: Weenen, KZN. Pregnant female victim killed, husband and 2 kids attacked too. Husband in hospital being treated for injuries.
3 July 2020
Farm Attack 3/7/2020: Kleinfontein, North West. 2 farmworkers were attacked by 4 armed suspects. Cash and phones were stolen. Community responded quickly and managed to arrest a suspect. Suspect was taken to hospital with various injuries.
Farm Attack 3/7/2020: Brits, North West. Victim and his two sons were attacked by 4 suspects armed with a pistol and a shotgun. Suspects shot their dog and tied the victims up, before fleeing with household items. No serious injuries reported.
Farm Attack 3/7/2020: Boesmanskop, Free State. Elderly female victim (84) was attacked by 4 armed suspects, who punched her in the face. Two safes were opened, and attackers took firearms, jewellery and cash. Victim was abducted in her own car and eventually released in Lesotho.
Farm Murder 3/7/20: Robertson, Western Cape. Last night the singer Wynand Breedt was shot and killed on a farm in the Western Cape.
Farm Murder 3/7/20: Sunrella, Gauteng. Jules Stobbs was shot & killed at around 2:30 this am. His partner

Farm Attack 2/7/2020: Paarl, Western Cape. Female victim was attacked in her house by four suspects, armed with a brick and pliers. She was assaulted and punched in the face. Phone, laptop and tv were stolen. Attackers fled on foot. No serious injuries reported.

Farm Attack 1/7/2020: Kirkwood, Eastern Cape. Elderly female victim (74) was stabbed various times by a single suspect pretending to be looking for work. Various cuts on her head and forearms. Suspect stole a phone and fled on foot.
Farm Attack 1/7/2020: Colenso, KwaZulu-Natal. Male victim (46) was attacked by 3 armed suspects. He was hit over the head & in the face with a firearm. Suspects fled in his bakkie, but SAPS & local farmers managed to close the roads & arrest the suspects near Winterton.

Farm Murder 30/6/20: De Wagensdrift, Cullinan, Gauteng. Farm workers were attacked by unknown number of suspects, one was shot dead. Suspects forced workers to open farm house.

#FarmAttack 27/6/20: Zastron, Free State. Farmer attacked by 2 suspects, one suspect runs away after warning shot fired, another keeps attacking. Farmer shoots attacker twice in chest and twice in head. Attacker died on scene.

Farm Attack 26/6/2020: Kameeldrift area, Gauteng. Three armed suspects attacked a farmstall and shot the owner in his arm. A phone was stolen before the attackers fled on foot.
Farm Attack 26/6/2020: Leeuwfontein, Gauteng. Male victim noticed three suspects when he looked out of the window. The next moment a shot was fired, hitting the victim is his lower leg. Attackers fled on foot.
Farm Attack 26/6/2020: Petrusburg, Free State. Three suspects disconnected the power and attacked the male victim (54) when he went out to check. He was dragged back to the house, tied up alongside his elderly mother (82) and both were severely assaulted. Phones & firearm stolen.
