Fadzai Mahere and Douglas Mwonzora engage in a Twitter brawl
After the MDC Veteran Activists Association publicly pledged allegance to Nelson Chamisa, Douglas Mwonzora did not stop calling for the national dialogue with Zanu PF. Things escalated yesterday when he posted a picture of the late former Prime Minister and MDC-T president Morgan Tsvagirai.
Mwonzora’s actions on twitter aroused responses from MDC-A officials particularly the MDC-A spokesperson Fadzayi Mahere resulting in a brawl.
Mwonzora posted a video calling for a national dialogue with the ruling party Zanu-PF quoting,
“We have increased our call for national dialogue. For a dialogue to be meaningful it must be genuine, unconditional l and inclusive.”
This has Fadzayi Mahere unhappy as she responds saying,
“Well, you have no dispute with Zanu PF that requires anything that can be sensibly called national dialogue. You are in constant comma with them as you plot to usurp the will of the people. So what dialogue do you now seek? How does a puppet dialogue with its puppet master? ”
” Since when do you call Zanu PF through the Daily News? Just call them the same way you did when you needed them to deploy the army to assist you in your violent take over of Harvest House. “

Mwonzora does not respond to this. Other MDC-A officials take his silence as a way of admitting his foul plays in destroying the MDC party as the elections are now only two years away.
Instead Mwonzora posts a picture of the late MDC-T president Morgan Tsvangirai with the caption,
“We will never forget”
This also provokes Mahere who responds,
“Morgan Tsvagirai appointed President Nelson Chamisa to be his vice president. You approached a court to undo his legacy after his passing. We will never forget”
This response from Fadzayi Mahere strikes Mwonzora’s nerve as he goes on to ask Mahere if she is the veteran of MDC affairs now? Without and delay Mahere tells Douglas that she is the official spokesperson of the party hence she communicates the party’s position.
In a stance that looks like giving up Mwonzora tweets,
“It is history which will judge. No amount of propaganda, no amount of hate, no amount of negative campaign can defeat an idea whose hour is come.”
Still in the zone of a brawl and full of facts, the MDC-A spokesperson goes on to tell Douglas Mwonzora that no amount of entitlement politics, violently seizing buildings with army help, unlawfully recalling MPs, usurping the will of the people, seizing MDC-A funds in contempt of court and working with Zanu PF can make him the valid opposition and it is history which will judge all.
This twitter brawl leaves many wondering where the opposition party is headed with its supporters being caught in between.
