No doubt our Tv screens haven’t been the same with him. He got the plug and the bling. Despite making all sorts of headlines the better half of last year it seems as if the celebrated Tv host has found his spark back. Who thought it could be this early.

Well disgraced television presenter Katlego Maboe has just made an unexpected comeback all thanks to the South African Film and Television Awards.

The star presenter has seen himself trending after South African Film and Television Awards nominees were revealed. The annual awards recognise South African finest. However, in the wake of the official nominees, list release Katlego got Mzansi talking.

Despite making all sorts of headlines for wrong reasons the inclusion of Katlego Maboe left Mzansi impressed. His cheating scandal in 2020 dominated the headlines but that couldn’t take away his effort and masterclass on screen.

Maboe is nominated in the Best Television Presenter category alongside Afternoon Express’ Palesa Tembe, Yimlo’s Dineo Ranaka, Hectic on 3’s Enhle Bizane, The Devi Show’s Devi Sankaree Govender, KN Verslag in gesprek’s Waldimar Pelser and Come Again’s Katchie Nzama.

Katlego Maboe fell from grace after a video of his wife accusing him of giving her an STD went viral. This caught many by surprise as the star has always kept a clean image in the public eye.

In the video, Katlego admitted to cheating with a woman on a work trip. Following the video, the presenter lost out on all of his sponsorships and endorsement. He was relieved from his duties as a presenter on SABC 3’s Expresso.

However, it was recently reported that Katlego Maboe not returning to Expresso. Good news is a myth when it comes to Katlego Maboe these days.

Over and above all, SABC has dismissed and tarnished any hope of viewers ever seeing their favourite on the Expresso screen as a presenter. The SABC has dismissed rumours on social media that Katlego Maboe will be reinstated.

Apparently, second chances are not quite the thing when it comes to public scandals. Katlego Maboe saw himself being suspended from Expresso after the leaking of a video where he admitted to having cheated on his partner and infecting her with an STI. Abuse accusations also came up.

A suspension gave fans the hope that perhaps one day the presenter will return to the screen but alas the SABC is not so big on second chances. Not even after fans launched a petition for the presenter to get his job back.
