Copycats: Couple Dineo and Solo Langa are under fire for copying Alexander McQueen’s design
Actress Dineo Moetketsi Langa and her husband Ntsizwa Langa, also known as Solo, are under heat. Their clothing line Port of LNG posted an image of an outfit that looks too similar to an international design. Mzansi didn’t have it, and people kept firing shots at them.
In the picture of the controversial design, the presenter, Kat Sinivasan, is wearing a suit. His suit is black with very bold and elaborate red detailing. On the front of the suit’s jacket is a red fabric bound to the black material underneath. Fabric strip pieces are hanging from the red cloth on the chest. All the hanging fabric ends on the knees.

Alexander McQueen’s design came out first. Similarly to the Port of LNG design, it is based on a black suit. There is a red fabric bound to the chest area. On the right side, red fabric pieces are hanging toward the torso. One sleeve of the suit is entirely red with sequence.
What is different about the pants is the red detailing on both sides of the pants on the original design.
Mzansi is not having it
Tweeps were angry after someone tweeted the similarities between the two outfits. Most people agreed the suit is almost a replica. Some were more annoyed and even went as far as calling the copying disgusting. One tweep said it was a copy and paste job.
Seeing that both Dineo and Solo are artists copying the work of others should be a no-no. Both of them understand the pain of copyright infringements. It is immoral to do it to someone else, no matter how big they are.
Port of LNG
The couple founded Port of LNG. Both of them love looking good. Both of them love wearing designer clothes as well. The couple wanted a business in tune with their passion.
Their business takes orders from clients and delivers after eight days. For now, they do not have a physical store. We are assuming it’s a make-on-demand business.
