Confirmed: Actor Ishmauel Songo ‘Mpande Zulu’ leaves The Wife

Since its debut on Showmax, The Wife has left its viewers emotional one way or the other. The storyline is filled with plot twists that viewers cannot help but be curious about what the next episodes will bring. In last week’s episode, viewers were left with a cliffhanger, not knowing if Mpande made it or not after he was shot. However, today, it has been confirmed that young actor Ishmauel Songo ‘Mpande Zulu’ has left the hit Showmax show, The Wife.

In last week’s episodes, the Majola brothers found a group of men to attack the Zulu household. While they showed their faces at the wedding to avoid suspicion later, their men were preparing for war. As planned, they attacked the Zulu wedding while the guests and people were still gathered. In the rain of bullets, they struck several loved ones, including Mvelo, Nkosana’s child, and Mpande Zulu, one of the three youngest brothers.

Ishmauel Songo has taken to his Instagram to announce officially to his fans that he has formally left the show. After this week’s episodes were released, viewers got to know that Mpande did not make it. In his post captioned:

I would like to take this opportunity to thank each and everyone of you for believing in my craft. Being a story teller is not easy because you ” living a day in a life of somebody else”. The support has been crazy!!! ❤️❤️❤️ THANK YOU SO MUCH TO STAINED GLASS PRODUCTION, for giving me this opportunity.

Ishmauel Songo says goodbye to his role as Mpande on The Wife

The actor went on to thank God for the opportunities he had been given in the acting industry since he was a kid. Ishmauel also promised his followers that this was only the end of his character as Mpande. He told fans that he has a lot of other projects lined up for 2022 and asked them to watch the space.

In his comment section, several former co-cast members wished him the best in his future projects. The Wife cast has made it clear that the series brought them together, and even off-screen, they now behave like a family, hanging out together. Linda Majola bid farewell to Ishmauel, and the latter joked that till they played pool again. Fans of the show claimed that they were not ready for his exit and another dose of very emotional episodes of the show.
