Bongekile Simelane, popularly known as Babes Wodumo, the reigning queen of Gqom, has announced that the third season of her reality TV series, ‘Uthando Lodumo,’ will be airing soon. In a recent Instagram post, she excitedly informed her fans about the upcoming season of the show she shared with her late husband, Mampintsha (real name Mandla Maphumulo).
Despite Mampintsha’s untimely death in December last year due to a stroke, the show will continue. A source revealed to Zimoja in March that the TV channel decided to renew the show for another season due to its positive reviews.

Health Concerns and Future Plans
In July, Babes updated her fans via Instagram that she was back in the studio and they should anticipate more music from her. This announcement came shortly after reports from IsiZulu newspaper Isolezwe suggested that she was critically ill and had been in and out of hospital due to an undisclosed illness.
However, Babes’ sister and manager Nondumiso Simelane refuted these claims, stating that Babes was in good health. She attributed Babes’ social media silence to her busy schedule working on two albums – her own and Mampintsha’s.
Despite the challenges she has faced, including the loss of her husband and rumors about her health, Babes Wodumo continues to forge ahead, securing her future and continuing to make her mark in the music industry.
