Rapper Kiernan Jarryd Forbes is also known as AKA has won a legal dispute and announced the news about his victory today. He won a legal dispute over Makhudu com Media, a communications company in charge of the Braai Show from SABC 1. After fighting with the company over the ownership of the show, the arbitration process concluded that the rapper owns 50% of the show.
AKA is happy with his victory due to the following reasons: he will no longer be exploited of his intellectual property rights. His business interests of the Braai Show are now legally protected. He has proved to the world that the media company breached their agreement. He now has monetary claims over the show for all the profits he was deprived of in the beginning.
Braai Show season 1
A year ago AKA appeared on Mzansi screens on the Braai Show with AKA. He had prominent public figures as his guests namely; Fikile Mbalula, his now girlfriend Nadia Nakai, Moozlie and many more. His show was great, there were 13 episodes of the season and a lot of enticing conversations were tackled both controversial and just entertaining.
Braai Show season 2
After the rapper’s dispute with Makhudu com media, the rapper refused to appear for the second season of the show. Instead of sorting out their differences, the media company opted to choose another star to host the show. Who did they choose? AKA’s biggest rival rapper Cassper Nyovest. Cassper had guests like Mihlali Ndamase, Zozibini Tunzi, Mpho Popps Modikane and many more. Season 2 was also very exciting.
Congratulations poured for AKA
Rapper Okmalumcoolkat was one of the first people to congratulate AKA on his victory. Singer and rapper Zingah volunteered to be the third season host of the show when the show came back. Others commanded AKA for his silence when he was mocked for being replaced by his biggest rival. Turns out now, Cassper was actually making money for him throughout the entire second season.
