Orlando Pirates striker Justin Shonga is on the police wanted list following a spate of assaults on women. Shonga was recently jailed after beating his vivacious girlfriend Zinhle Khumalo after a heated altercation. Zinhle reportedly filed a police report again Shonga who was arrested and released on bail. The dribbler then failed to appear before the court at the given date resulting in the magistrate issuing a warrant of arrest for the football player.
He reportedly assaulted Zinhle at her home in town complex in Midrand after an argument.
Zinhle alleged that Shonga was in a habit of assaulting him with fists after she bumped into him with another woman at her complex. She said the Shonga assaulted her after she confronted him about the girlfriend issue.

The soccer star who is a Zambian by birth denied the allegations saying that there was no evidence that Zinhle was beaten. Zinhle’s statement to the police reads, “After realising that I had called the police, he told me that he was a former police officer. He cannot beat me and leave me with a mark to prove that he assaulted me. I am afraid of this man.”

Shonga, after the Sun Team sent an inquiry to Zinhle, admitted that he knows her but never bet her alleged.
Police spokesperson Kay Makhubele confirmed the matter and said it was being treated as a domestic violence case. “It is a domestic violence case in Midrand on 24 May around 4:20 am. The victim, a female age 27 years old, alleged that she saw her boyfriend with another girlfriend and confronted him about the female he was with and an argument ensued. The boyfriend assaulted her in front of their child and she called the police and the suspect was then arrested,” Makhubele said.
