Robert Mpisi can be termed a veteran in the acting industry with all his landed work. It is easier to mention the number of South African prime time TV shows that he did not appear in because the list of all the jobs he has landed is endless. Robert Mpisi realized his love for acting by chance when his teacher encouraged him to join the theatre club at his school during class speeches. He went on to land his first acting role in a stage play when he was only seventeen years old. After finishing Matric, Robert Mpisi decided to move to Johannesburg to pursue acting as a full-on career, and that was the beginning of his journey to stardom.
Producers have taken advantage of Robert Mpisi’s talent in playing criminal roles. He did not stop doing theatre and went on to play the lead in a comedy production called Cellphone, which was shown at Grahamstown Festival. In the famous play written by Dr Allan Kolski named The Pump Room, he played a drug dealer.

Robert soon found himself landing roles in commercials and television adverts. He is best known for the roles that he has played in some of Mzansi’s most-watched drama series like Generations, Isidingo, Gomora, Home Affairs, Rhythm City and currently Scandal, where his character Zenzele is wreaking havoc for his family. Robert was part of taking Charge and Buckets, a Swedish film about a South African boy who goes back to the motherland in search of his root.
The actor is the definition of a Jack of all trades. The thriving actor took advantage of the name he had made for himself in the industry and used his influence to start his casting and modelling agency called Talent Factory which he is the CEO of. He is also a thriving musician who has been putting out music for over six years under the stage name Robert.
