It appears Coming to 2 America will be a Mzansi affair. Some of Mzansi’s favourites are set to feature in the Coming 2 America album.
The Coming 2 America album will feature Nasty C, Tellaman, Gemini Major, Prince Kaybee and DJ Ganyani. Other artists featured on the album include Anathii, Sha Sha, Tekno, De Mthuda, Tiwa Savage and Diamond Platnumz among other artists from across Africa. While this won’t be for the official soundtrack album, Coming 2 America will be releasing a companion album and that is where various African artists come in. The artists all have a song or feature in a track in the 16 track album.
Mzansi stars to feature in Coming 2 America album
South African musicians are not the only ones who have been invited to the Coming 2 America party. Luxury brand, MaXhosa Africa by Laduma Ngxokolo’s designs feature in the movie. Eddie Murphy and Nomzamo Mbatha are also spotted in the trailer of the movie wearing MaXhosa Africa pieces. Laduma was head hunted by award winning costume designer, Ruth Carter, who wanted him to design pieces for Coming 2 America.
“Got a call from the QUEEN of costume design @therealruthecarter in 2019 to co-work with her on a few @MAXHOSA pieces for the Coming 2 America film, the rest was history and history was made. My team and I enjoyed every minute of working on this project, we where especially delighted to see our pieces on our very own @nomzamo_m and several acts we grew up dreaming of meeting, thank you Ruth” he said.
Actress Nomzamo bagged a role in the movie and has since appeared in the movie’s flier and trailer. Since leaving Isibaya for a career in Hollywood, the actress has started off on a good note with a role in Coming 2 America and a possible role in a Marvel movie. She has also been in Essence’ top 20 black act Hollywood stars to watch out for in 2021. It’s been nothing but good vibes ever since. Celebrating her win on Instagram, she said:

Clearly Mzansi is winning in Hollywood from all angles, music, acting and design. We await the movie premier on the 5th of March.
