Dancing Career
In 2000 she started her dance career, dancing in school concerts and beauty pageants. By the time she is 12 takes an interest in beauty pageants, which prepares her for a job she lands sixteen years down the line. Londeka ventures into the Arts
Londeka defies the notion that school dropouts do not make it. The actress drops out of law school to pursue the Arts. “I’ve always wanted to be in the entertainment industry. At first, I wanted to be a dancer, but my mother insisted that I study something serious; in this case, it was law,” she says.
“She was paying, so I had to do it. I studied for two years, but I got to a point where I could no longer do it. In my third year, I dropped out and studied drama and performance instead. I couldn’t continue wasting my mother’s money knowing that I was not going to practice as a lawyer.”
Acting Career
When she enrols for a degree in Drama and Performance, Londeka starts making strides. She completes several productions on campus, one being “Have You Seen Zandile”. Mlaba completed her degree in 2014 and is cast in Kwasukasukela (Folktales) as a dancer.
Modelling Career
She ventures towards the world of photography modelling whilst performing in different events doing contemporary dance as a profession.
Although she tries other avenues, she keeps her acting career a priority. In January 2015, she was cast in the production Prince Senie: The Curse Of Logozo. That same year in September, she became one of 12 actors to be mentored at the Playhouse Company in Durban. Here she performs dance, singing, poetry and acting. One of the plays she appeared in was Hello and Goodbye by Athol Fugard, in which she plays the character of Hester at the Opera Theatre. In December 2015, she acted in Asambeni, an industrial theatre piece for the Chamber of Commerce targeting several different Municipal Departments.
