Zlatan Ibrahimovic accused of canned lion hunting in Mzansi
Superstar footballer Zlatan Ibrahimovic is being accused of hunting for sport in South Africa. Despite applying for his hunting license Zlatan is said to have taken part in canned hunting. Swedish reports claim that the AC Milan striker shipped the skull, skin and jaw of the lion back to his home.
According to Expressen, Zlatan Ibrahimovic applied for a hunting license then travelled to Mzansi in 2011. In 2012 he then sent his winnings home from the trophy hunting experience. If these allegations are true then Zlatan has most likely crossed legal boundaries in South Africa.
It is allowed by law to participate in organised hunting trips. However, canned hunting which is defined as an unfair chase whereby the animal is placed in a confined area making it too easy for the hunter is illegal. Canned lion hunting is illegal in South Africa but captive-bred lion hunting is allowed.

Also there are laws which govern export of certain animal remains and these seem to have been ignored too. Lions have been officially classified as vulnerable species by the Conservation of Nature Red List for Threatened Species.
Zlatan Ibrahimovic admires the lion and always compares himself to one. At one point during an interview he said that he does not want to be compared to other footballers because he is a lion and lions cannot be compared to humans.
The famous footballer has a huge lion tattoo on his back. He makes the lion tattoo roar on his back by tensing his muscles in an extraordinary part trick. Many famous starts seems to love and admire a lion that they have tattoos of a lion on their bodies. These include Memphis Depay, Sebastian Sosa, Anthony Joshua, Ben Stokes, Lewis Hamilton, Mauro Icardi, Neymaer and Conor McGregor among other stars.
The love these stars have for animals should be channeled to ways of conserving and cherishing these animals.
