Zekhethelo ‘Nyalleng Thibedi’ confirms Uzalo exit!
Well in the wake of a mass exodus of leading actors Uzalo has been dealt with a big blow as one of its remaining firebrands Zekhethelo dumps the Mzansi hit soapie in the eleventh hour. Despite regaining its top spot as Mzansi most-watched soapie with over 9 million views the drama series still find it hard to keep lead actors at its camp.
Nyalleng Thibedi who plays Zekhethelo on the hit soapie took it to the media to confirm her exit. She joins a host of celebrated actors who have exited the drama series recently. She joins the likes of Dawn Thandeka King who plays the thuggish character of MaNgcobo.
Some actors who have exited the drama series of late includes veteran actress Baby Cele and Siyabonga Shibe. However, star casts like Dawn Thandeka King and Jet Novuka are still wrapping things up with showrunners on-screen. Zekhethelo played the controversial stepdaughter of Nkunzebvomu Mhlongo played by Masoja Msiza.
Contacted for comment the bubbly actress confirmed her exit.
“Yes, it’s true I’m leaving Uzalo,” she said.

The bubbly actress has become a household name in the entertainment industry.
“I’m not sure when will be my last episode aired. I will still be on the screens since the script is still running and I’m part of the script. Honestly, at the moment I will not disclose where I will be going will have to keep it under wraps as of now,” she said.
Well, Uzalo pulled a shocker a few months ago when it confirmed that its old guns were making a return to the show. Uzalo firebrands which include Thobile, GC, Master Mind and Mxolisi are back on set and are part of season 7. In the wake of the mass exodus of leading actors, Uzalo even did the unthinkable when it bolstered its cast with Shauwn Mkhize.
However, according to inside sources, salary woes are the major contributing factor to the mass exodus of cast members. Of late the drama series has been marred with salaries woes which have even spilt to the public.
Late last year SABC indicated that it gave the showrunners an ultimatum to review salaries of actors. Despite the call earlier this year Uzalo actors downed tools after the showrunners failed to pay them in time.
