Young Forever: Real Goboza presenter Samora Mangesi’s age gets Mzansi talking
South African television personality Samora Mangesi is famous for presenting SABC 2, a youth magazine show Hectic Nine, before joining Real Goboza as a co-presenter in June 2018.

Born and bred in Mdantsane, East London, Samora grew up surrounded by a supportive family and extended family of uncles and aunties. He attended Kleuterhoekie preschools, Selborne Primary, Selborne College before enrolling at AFDA in Cape Town, where he attained a Bachelor of Arts Degree in Filming. Since Samora’s preschool days, he has always had an eye for acting; he recalls playing different primary school drama club roles.
A presenter by accident, talented Sam Mangesi grew to love his new profession; he bumped into television presenting during his first semester at AFDA.
I was always good at speaking and reading, but it never really grabbed my attention for some reason. I was a thespian, and if I were going to sell out to another medium, it would be filmed.
Samora Mangesi TV Career and The Real Goboza (RGB)
Despite initially having no desire to be a television presenter, Samora Mangesi debuted his television role on CTV and presented ‘Youth Aflame. In 2012, he auditioned for a role to present on Hectic Nine and failed, made the cut a few months later when the show producers made another talent search. In April 2013, he became the presenter of Hectic Nine, a Youth Magazine show, on SABC 2, which he ran for five years before joining SABC1’s The Real Goboza (RGB) as a co-host. Samora made his debut as a co-host on the 9th of June 2018 alongside Sinazo Yolwa.

Having turned out to be one of Mzansi’s men crash every day, Samora Mangesi’s age has been placed under scrutiny. Although he has a teenage stature, Samora is older than he looks; a testimony of excellent grooming, he was born on the 15th of January 1993, making him 29 years old in 2022.
