Uncle Vinny has been dubbed the Coolest Kid in Africa, and with good reason. The South African born superstar has found himself trending all over social media and usually for the wrong reasons. Most people believe that he let his fame get to his head and now doesn’t know how to handle it. His reaction to crowds usually ends with him being a laughing stock on social media, and this time it’s no different. Mzansi mocks Uncle Vinny after a video of him attempting to make it rain to an uninterested crowd emerges.
Once again, Uncle Vinny has found himself being the joke of the day after his ‘making it rain’ moment went wrong in Ghana. The teen entertainer was caught on video counting a bunch on Ghana cedis before throwing it in the crowd. The typical reaction would have been people picking up the money, but the crowd did not react. Not even one person showed interest in picking the money that he threw.
Tweeps have been left in stitches as they reacted to the video. Some were claiming that fame had gotten into the young performer’s head. Comparisons between Ghanian slay queens and South African Slay queens were made as people laughed at Vinny, saying he was embarrassing himself.
Uncle Vinny’s rise to fame
Uncle Vinny was born in a family with three other siblings in a crime-filled neighbourhood. Born Kabelo Vincent Ndlovu in Soweto, the entertainer has been streetwise since he was younger. However, his love for entertainment made him stand out, and he attended the National School of Arts, where he matriculated in 2020.
Vinny started cementing meaningful relationships when he landed a job at Hillbrow Radio Station. His big break came when he landed a job on MTV Base as a VJ. Since then, his career has been rising. Last weekend a lot of talent in the Amapiano industry were in Ghana. The likes of Uncle Waffles, Kamo Mphela, Major League DJs and the performer in question have been entertaining Ghana fans with their crafts. The fans seemed to love the music but were not impressed by Vinny’s money.
