Congratulations are to the African Queen, Makhadzi. She is one of Mzansi’s biggest stars, and she has reached yet another career milestone. She is now gracing the cover of the famous True Love Magazine. Makhadzi is one hard-working artist who keeps elevating her musical career. She hasn’t had an easy career rising, but she is now at the top. She has achieved so much.
Her True Love cover is for the April and May feature, and it’s available in stores now. She shared her moment with the TikTok local stars Sphokuhle, Chad, Baby Daiz and Kay. The African Queen thanked her management group and True Love Magazine for the cover in the caption. She also promoted her Pain Ya Jealousy EP, which is out now.
Magazine cover launch
The Salungano singer attended her Magazine cover launch in true Makhadzi style. She wore a black mini skirt and an elaborate red top with flowing sleeves. When she was called to the stage, it was emphasized that she was chosen among many to be on the cover. True Love also stressed that not just anybody gets to be on their cover. She was called one of the most influential artists in the country and a positive role model.
Makhadzi hopped onto the stage, and she expressed how she adores the cover. She was asked if she’d like to say anything, and she said yes. In her speech, she started by greeting the audience in her home language TsiVenda. She said everything that’s happening in her career is so surreal. The African Queen also expressed her happiness and called it a dream. Makhadzi traced back to the day she found out she’d be on the cover and said she cried.
Makhadzi epitomizes the words ‘ ground-up ‘ as she starts from the bottom. She started her musical career singing in the taxi ranks of Limpopo Province. It wasn’t easy, but she persisted even when she wasn’t making any progress. After getting the recognition, she got a recording deal, and her career rocketed.
The Kokovha hitmaker was in Botswana. Upon her arrival, she was bestowed with many generous gifts and praise from the Royal family. Unfortunately, she didn’t receive the same courtesy from the people who were meant to pay her and she had an altercation over a payment delay.
