- Just a week after Zinhle Mabena was arrested for the attempted murder of her husband, Robert Ngwenya, a warrant has been issued for his arrest.
It is reported that Zinhle Mabena got a protection order against her husband in 2020. However, Robert Ngwenya has been found to be in violation of the protection order.
“Therefore you are hereby authorised and ordered to forthwith arrest the respondent (Ngwenya) in terms of the provisions of the Domestic Violence Act, 1998, if there are reasonable grounds to suspect that the complainant (Mabena) may suffer imminent harm as a result of the alleged breach of the protection order by the respondent,” reads the document.

“Police can confirm that a complainant who had a protection order approached the police in Akasia saying that her husband had assaulted her. She had a warrant of arrest which was issued with protection order. Police went out to look for the husband and he was not found at the address pointed out. There are other cases of assault and malicious damage to property that are still under investigation. Dockets were taken to SPP for decision”.
Warrant for arrest out for Zinhle Mabena’s husband
Last week, Zinhle Mabena was arrested and accused of attempted murder of her husband. Robert Ngwenya survived a shooting in January that occurred at a filling station. A car came by and individuals shot at him and his bodyguard, unfortunately gunning down the bodyguard. Police said they had evidence which pointed in Zinhle’s direction. However, the National Prosecutor Association threw the case out of court and the arrest was dismissed as unlawful. After her release, Zinhle’s PR agents issued a statement reiterating that her arrest was unlawful and an intimidation tactic by her husband.
Zinhle also spoke about how she had been abused in her marriage. However, Robert Ngwenya also responded by revealing that he had also been abused by his wife.
Developments revealed that the couple’s child as well as their domestic worker witnessed incidents whereby Zinhle attacked Robert. It is said that the Isibaya actress attacked her husband with a scissors and on other accounts hit him with a broomstick all happening at their home in Blue Valley Estate in Midrand, Gauteng.
Zinhle is also accused of having pushed Robert down the stairs at their home.
