David Mabuza: Zooming with the Zumas Part 2
Jacob Zuma: (speaking about saving David Mabuza’s life after poisoning) Besides everything you could have done, i appreciate what you did. You did not hesitate to do so, thank you for that moving story because i initiated the trip that he went and came back and he as very thankful for the services you gave. He was very clear and i think he is clear until now. Life as we have said earlier is a complex thing, you could think after what happened there was a very little thing that can separate you and him. But you saved his life and you did not hesitate to do that
There are a few things that shows what type of a human being you are and i think you demonstrated what kind of person you are. I think he is grateful and for that and he should be grateful until now no matter what else would have come in between. it is a moving story and it should be put on record for those who say what is this guy doing. And also your partners who were also part of the help to fly there.
Duduzane Zuma: A Gupta plane and a Gupta helicopter as they say it.
Jacob Zuma: We could leave it for now but i was saying this young man does have my heart because i always want to help because that help saved David Mabuza’s life and he came back and told people how much you saved life and thank you very much.
Duduzane Zuma: A lot of people are saying why did you save David Mabuza but my relationship with the deputy president was not based on politics but a personal relationship. This is life. I don’t know how many people have accused you why you saved him. I do not know who poisoned him and why, i’m happy to say even of that could be repeated i would still save life
ANC Elective Congress: Zooming with the Zumas Part 2
Duduzane Zuma: December 2017 was a very interesting period in political history, it was an ANC elective congress and there are certain things we haven’t spoken in the public domain. There were some interesting points and i will leave it to you.
Jacob Zuma: Nasrec was an important year for the ANC, it was a chance for ANC to move up in terms of its task and everything. It also meant that Nasrec could make the ANC go down, but as we are all cadres of the ANC we know one another. Unexpected happened there. There was a very clear direction of the members were taking and the issue of money was coming in as it had never happened before and it was clear you were either going to move with the ANC or move with the money. The ideology of the ANC was being seriously battered so we emerge with an ANC that was going to be driven by money like a business. Money moves the ANC cadres. The ANC has been turned into a business concern. Those who do not have money will not govern. When the information came out we had an ANC that could not act on it.
Comrades behaved in a very strange way. There was comrade standing outside asking where the money was coming from. We are going to write these things to explain what happened. It left scars which is going to take time to heal. Things like Radical Economic Transformation , the land issues and free education for example were the main issues, but the attitude had changed. people were threatened with hunger. Its the first time to recall a president who has done nothing. It was clear that here you were faced with a kind of situation that was not respecting the membership of the ANC.
Bitterness about Dlamini-Zuma losing to Ramaphosa
Duduzane: f i say to you, OK dad, maybe you are saying it because the side you were backing did not win, how do you respond to that?
If somebody said so it would be someone who was not in South Africa. The amount of monies that came out is a reality. There are accounts are there. The fact that a president was removed after asking, What have i done? and no one responded.
Duduzane: You were accused of corruption and being associated with people who were accused of state capture, myself included.
