It was all joy in Mam Connie’s camp when she won the prestigious lifetime recognition within two months. She celebrated both awards as SAFTAS presented her with the first one. Unfortunately, she was made to wait a little bit before she got to hold her Holywood African Prestige Award. Thank God, the wait is finally over, and Connie is healthy and alive to receive her award in America. Before boarding the plane, she waved goodbyes to Mzansi as she raised the higher flag.

She then joined Inkom’ Edla Yodwa as Thembi, which was her first notable role in acting. She later featured in many television drama series and films like Black is King, Rythm City and Black Panther. It is with Black Panter that Connie starred in an international film. There she showed a different class that made fans worldwide fall in love with her. Undoubtedly, given the length and quality of her career, Connie Chiume deserved whatever she is getting today.
