Update: Toyota double cab found
The Toyota Hilux double cab swept by the Gweru River has been recovered. Only two bodies of the six have been found. Four bodies are still missing.
On the 10th of January 2021 a Toyota double cab with 6 passengers was swallowed up by Gweru River whilst trying to cross the river. The tragedy was confirmed by the Gweru Mayor Mr Josiah Makombe.
Since yesterday the Sub Aqua Unit has been looking for the car and the six passengers.
Floods are expected in the next few days in Tsholotsho, Kanyemba, Muzarabani and Save Valley. All citizens should be careful and exercise extra caution.
