A headmaster of a school in Mutoko has been caught stealing maize. The story was posted by Journalist Hopewell Chin’ono on Twitter.
Teacher are currently facing hard times in Zimbabwe as they are earning a salary that is less than USD 100. There have been numerous call by unions representing teachers to increase the salaries of their members, but the government has dragged its feet.
The government is currently locked in negotiations over a salary increase with the government. The teachers are represented by the APEX council, ans a grouping of trade unions representing civil servants.
Recently the Progressive Teachers Union of Zimbabwe Secretary General Raymond Majongwe directed its members to dress in whatever clothes that they want since dressing is no longer a priority.
