Spain has recorded a record number of covid-19 deaths in a day with 738 deaths yesterday. The European country has now surpassed China in the number of deaths with 3434 as the total number of people who have died of covid-19.
Spain is now second to Italy in the total death toll. The recent statistics has triggered popular athletes such as FC Barcelona star Lionel Messi and Manchester City coach Pep Guardiola to donate.
Over 109,000 of the 424,000 people diagnosed with the disease have recovered, according to data collected by Johns Hopkins University. More than 18,900 people have died from COVID-19.
