In recent years celebrities have been caught off guard and they have been brought to order by the laws of the land. Here are some South African celebrities who have been arrested and jailed for their bad behaviour.
MacDonald Ndou
Muvhango star actor MacDonald Ndou who plays the on-screen character of KK once went behind bars in 2019. The veteran star actor was arrested by the Hawks in July 2019 facing counts of extortion, corruption, theft and kidnapping.
Okmalumkoolkat
Celebrated rapper Okmalumkoolkat was once nabbed for public assault whilst on a tour in Australia. The rapper pleaded guilty to assaulting a woman at a hotel in Australia and he was handed a six months sentence.
Trevor Noah
Africa’s celebrated comedian Trevor Noah was arrested when he was still a teenager. Noah went behind bars for a week before being released on bail. He was arrested on suspicion of having stolen a car and was later released on bail.
Khanya Mkangisa
In 2019 seasoned actress Khanya Mkangisa was nabbed for drinking and driving.
Dj Black Coffee
Back then in 2015 multi-award-winning Dj Black Coffee was arrested for reckless driving. Black Coffee was nabbed on Christmas Eve of 2015 for speeding at 200km/hour in a 120km/ hour zone.

Jub Jub was arrested in 2010 for causing an accident that led to the death of four school pupils. He was sentenced to 25 years in prison but was later released in 2017 on parole.
Brickz
Kwaito sensation Brickz shocked Mzansi when he was implicated in a rape case. The ‘sweet my baby’ kwaito hitmaker was found guilty of raping his late sister’s daughter in 2017. He was sentenced to 15 years in jail.
Maggie Benedict
Star actress Maggie Benedict was made headlines when she was nabbed for theft. She was arrested in December 2013 for shoplifting panado tablets worth 17rands.
Nathi
Award-winning Afro-pop musician Nathi was arrested in 2019 in connection with a business robbery.
Oscar Pistorius
Oscar Pistorius made headlines when he shot and killed his girlfriend on 14 February 2013. He is currently serving his13 years prison sentence.
