Skeem Saam Lelo actor Amanda du-Pont joins Isono as Mamba
Amanda du-Pont made her debut on BET Africa soapie Isono on the episode that aired on Thursday 05 November 2020.
The popular actress assumes the role of Mamba. Fans of the soapie expect her character to bring more drama to the series.
The episode also saw fellows actor Joe Kazadi also making his debut appearance on the show as Bhekumuso.
Skeem Saam fans have speculated if the actress’s new role on Isono means she is leaving the SABC 1 production. Amanda du-Pont plays Lelo Mthiyane on Skeem Saam an antagonist that the fans love to hate. Despite appearing as a villain in Skeem Saam, Amanda’s character was important to the soapie’s storyline.
Fans have not taken well to the news that Amanda du-Pont might be leaving Skeem Saam.
Amanda has not appeared on the show in a while after her on-screen lover Lehasa Maphosa wanted to get her arrested.
She joined the show in 2008. At this point, it is not clear if she will play Lelo and Mamba at the same time or how long she will be appearing on Isono. Amanda, Skeem Saam nor Isono have released statements clarifying these points.
However, Skeem Saam December teasers show that her onscreen lover Lehasa is tracking her down using an IT expert called Fanie.
Isono is Clive Production’s fifth telenovela. The company’s telenovelas Broken Vows and Ashes-to-Ashes were cancelled by eTV due to low viewership numbers. The production company is working on a new telenovela which will air on SABC 3 in 2021. The telenovela called The Estates will feature talented actors such as Sdumo Mtshali who plays Sibusiso Ndlovu on Isibaya.
