“Soon after I joined Uzalo‚ I had to make some lifestyle changes. ‚ at that time, I didn’t have a car, so I took taxis to work. Taking the taxis started to become a hassle‚ with so many people putting me under pressure‚ you know, asking questions and asking for pictures. It was not wrong in any way, and I couldn’t even blame them…”

Simphiwe ventures into music.

While the Covid-19 lockdown is hitting hard on some people, Majozi uses it to launch his music career finally. The actor has been longing to try his magic in the music panorama for a while now but is wary of the piercing glares of the public eye. When he finally has time on his hands during the lockdown, Majozi polishes up one song he wrote last year and ultimately decided to release it as a Covid-19 awareness song.

The song titled “Nizobona Ngomophu (You will reap what you sow)” receives positive public feedback, pushing the actor to work on his debut album. “Covid-19 starts, and we are told many times to wear masks and stop moving around, but people never took that seriously. The song encourages the public to act responsibly because Covid-19 is serious. I have always wanted to release my music, but I could not because people think you are taking chances when you are a TV star. They don’t think you are talented. Music has always been part of my life, and I started singing while I was doing theatre,” he says.
