Showmax finally reveals the cast of Hlomu the wife TV series. The series will premier on Showmax on 11 November 2021. The Tv series will be based on the book series written by Dudu Busani-Dube. Ever since Showmax announced that the book series would be turned into a book series, fans have been giving the producers suggestions of who they want to play the characters.
This story follows the lives of eight Zulu brothers, a crime family as told by the woman they marry.
Three seasons have already been commissioned, inspired by the three books, Hlomu the wife, Zandile the Resolute, and Naledi his love.
The Wife Cast
Bonko Khoza will be playing Mqhele. The actor is best known for his role on Necktie youth as Jabz. Kwenzo Ngcobo is cast as Qhawe; he is best known for his role as Sandile in the 2020 movie Catch-up. Sipho Ndlovu from Isibaya and The Queen is cast as Sambulo. Safta winner Abdul Khoza from Isibaya and Kings of Joburg is to play Nqoba. Mondli Makhoba, who played roles on Generations and Umkhokha plays Nkosana. Safta nominee Thulane Nkululeko Shange from Durban Gen and iNumber Number is to play Mqoqi. Ishmauel Songo (Rhythm City, Tsotsi) is to play Mpande; and Swelihle Luthuli (eHostela)is cast as Ntsika.

Bonko Khoza had this to say about the series and being cast in it, “I read the book a couple of years ago and was a fan from the moment I put it down. Fast forward to 2021, when I got sent an audition for the series. I’m excited to bring to life this incredible piece of writing. Dudu created a compelling work of art, and now we get to breathe life into it, put faces to names, and show it to the world.
