Scandal’s actor Bra Neo Mokheti ‘Jerry Mofokeng’ opens a school
South African veteran actor Jerry Mofokeng who plays Bra Neo Mokheti on etvs hit soapie Scandal has opened an arts school with his son. He has wowed Mzansi for decades with his masterclass performances both on and off-screen as an actor and producer. With his illustrious acting career spanning for years, the seasoned actor has now opened an arts academy to teach the next on-screen generation.
The actor has starred in a number of award-winning drama series such as Mandela and de Klerk, Tsotsi and Cry The Beloved Country. But his etvs thuggish role will actually take him to the grave. In his illustrious career, he has won awards such as the precious Golden Horn Award.
With a new performance academy running under the name Maxter Group Academy his son who also happens to be a co-founder will be focusing on the music entertainment side. However, the legendary actor will be looking after the acting side of the academy.

The academy will be catering to passionate teenagers who want to venture into the entertainment industry. Many might be wondering who is Mofokeng son. Lerato Mofokeng is best known for his role on the now-cancelled SABC3 soapie Isidingo. Lerato played the character role of Ntando on Isidingo.
Speaking to the media Lerato indicated its a dream come true.
“The lockdown made me see the other side of the world and I was fascinated by it. Honestly, if I don’t do it now I might never have a chance to do it ever. My great wish is to give the upcoming stars exposure so that the industry won’t be something new to them,”
” We have so much talent which needs to be mentored. If they are doing it abroad why can’t we do it as well.”
The former Isidingo star will focus on the music side of the academy whilst his dad who doubles as a producer and director will take charge of the acting side. Those who would want to join the academy are free to do so and it’s open for all. Currently, the academy is taking applications for the March Intakes and the closing date for registration is 19 March.
The academy will be taking in only 30 students at a fee of R1 200. The class will be privileged to take part in a big play written by Jerry Mofokeng.
