On set, MaSonto is a car hijacking superintended who runs a workshop with more than five employees, but the actress is an academic intellectual in real life. She did her matric in Eastern Cape and registered for tertiary education, where she graduated with a Teaching Degree in 1976. The actress started teaching at government schools for 11 years and later moved to Greece for greener pastures.
