Pearl Thusi bounces back with fragrance deal after Netflix let down
In the beginning of the year Netflix’s first African original series premiered on the 28th February called Queen Sono. Pearl Thusi played the lead and title role of the show. The series got positive reviews and was renewed by Netlix for a second season. Unfortunately because of the pandemic the streaming service had review its decision and cancelled Queen Sono citing that COVID restrictions would make filming almost impossible. This left a number of the cast jobless including Pearl Thusi however, nothing can get the girl down and she has since bounced back with a fantastic collaboration with the Sitota Collection.
Success never smelt so good
The Sitota Collection is a fragrance brand was started by Yvette Davis Gayle, a Brooklyn born South Africa based publicist. She says that her travels around the world inspire her. The collaboration with Pearl Thusi was a surprise announcement but the collaboration made perfect sense. Since Pearl is a celebrity she represents a world and lifestyle that is luxurious, refined and mostly inaccessible. With this deal her lifestyle is made a little more accessible. Pearl Thusi’s product is the Black Rose Artisan Candle which combines Bulgarian Rose, Black Currants and Sweet Berries. To compliment, Black Rose Artisan Soap is a gentle soap made with skin loving oils including Olive Oil, Castor Oil, Shea Butter, Mango Seed Butter and Activated Charcoal. It is beautifully scented with Black Rose fragrance and essential oils.
Out with the old in with the new
After devastating loss with the cancellation of Queen Sono, Pearl Thusi’s venture into fragrance was a great pick me up. The actress, singer and presenter said that the partnership with The Sitota Collection felt right. Pearl spoke to DailySun and said, “The partnership with The Sitota Collection came naturally and felt right. I am a business woman and venturing into luxury home products has been a dream of mine, who better to partner with than the best in the business?” She went on to say “I can’t wait for the local community to experience what we have put together. This is my full-circle moment. The collaboration is incredible because the soap and candle used my favourite scents and ingredients.”
Pearl Thusi is a multi-talented and multi-faceted lady with a lot up her sleeve. Even though the non-renewal of Queen Sono by Netflix was a major disappointment this new partnership with The Sitota Collection goes to show that nothing can bring the actress down.
