As the saying goes, suicide is premeditated. If we remember, when the veteran actor challenged Cassper Nyovest to a boxing match, he said, “I want my tombstone to be written that I defeated Cassper. He also said, “I want to defeat you before I die.” A new video of his words to some of his The River team members has emerged on the internet. Were the videos a subtle cry for help?
He sat with another actor and his colleagues who work behind the scenes inside an office in the video.
When speaking to his team members, he dwelled on the importance of keeping true to the art of acting. He also told of his death, and he said that a few things should be cited to his children. He said he had the most fantastic time whilst shooting for The River and worked with the most amazing people. He was, in a way, telling them goodbye and that when he passed, they shouldn’t assume it was due to his work.
When he was with his colleagues, they all thought he was merely reflecting and appreciating them; however, Patrick was also subtly saying goodbye to his team.
It’s unfortunate that the older man suddenly publicly spoke about his death, and people assumed he was talking about the future coming years.
What caused Patrick Shai to commit suicide
After the depression and heaviness of the heart the actor felt when counselling GBV victims, he decided to part ways with the world. His wife Masechaba Shai told the world the emotional cause of his suicide but, we don’t know how he did it. It could’ve been anything, and being honest, and fans would rather not know how he did it.
How to go about helping a person who suddenly speaks about their coming death
If a loved one is suddenly speaking about their death, pay careful attention. Try evaluating what could be hurting them and come up with solutions for them. Public clinics across South Africa offer free mental health counselling and treatment, and a visit won’t hurt.
