Zimbabwe’s largest insurance and integrated financial services company Old Mutual has donated to the Covid-19 fighting cause.
The Emerald Hill headquartered company is offering all health professionals working on Covid-19 cases an insurance package to the tune of ZWL 2 billion in the event of them becoming victims of the pandemic.
The company made the announcement on their Twitter account this afternoon.
Today we join in the fight against the Covid-19 virus by availing ZWL$2 billion worth of cover to health professionals on the front line in the fight against the Covid-19 pandemic for a period of six months.
In consultation with health authorities, Old Mutual & Cabs will be provide 300 protective kits to health workers at Harare Hospital & 200 at Thorngroove Hospital The kit includes 2 PVC aprons, 2 cotton gowns, 10 respirators, 10 overshoes & a box of latex gloves
Enactus CUT Chinhoyi University which has already started to produce masks, will receive four overlocking machines, which will enable the institution to increase throughput from 3000 to 6000 masks a day. The Group will provide healthcare staff at Harare Hospital and at Thorngroove in Bulawayo with protective gear, and will assist Africa University in Mutare and Enactus CUT Chinhoyi University of Science Education to ramp up production of sanitisers and face masks respectively.
In addition, as a responsible business, Old Mutual together with its banking subsidiary CABS have put together a further ZW$3.5 million towards the fight against COVID-19.
