Children: She has four children in her marriage with Jacob Zuma: Msholozi (born 1982); Gugulethu Zuma-Ncube (born 1984), who married the son of Zimbabwean politician and President of the MDC, Welshman Ncube; Nokuthula Nomaqhawe (born 1987); and their youngest daughter, Thuthukile Zuma.
Born Nkosazana Clarice Dlamini in Natal in a family of eight, she is the eldest and completed her high school at the Amanzimtoti Training College.

- BSc degree in Zoology and Botany from University of Zululand 1971;
- MB ChB from University of Bristol 1978
- Diploma in Tropical Child Health from School of Tropical Medicine, University of Liverpool 1986.
- Matriculated at Amanzimtoti Training College in 1967.
After finishing her medical studies, Nkosazana Dlamini- Zuma worked in Swaziland as a medical doctor at Mbababe Government Hospital. She reportedly met her then husband President Jacob Zuma while working in Swaziland.
Nkosazana Political Career
Sometimes referred to as NDZ due to her initials, Nkosazana Dlamini-Zuma is an anti- apartheid activist. She served in Nelson Mandela cabinet as Minister of Health from 1994- 1999. Under Presidents Thabo Mbeki and Kgalema Motlanthe she served as Minister of Home Affairs. She remained Minister of Home Affairs in the first term of President Jacob Zuma. Minister in the Presidency for the National Planning Commission for Policy and Evaluation under President Cyril Ramaphosa.
